| Advice from Tony Joe – Don’t Buy the Cheapest Gas |
|
If you haven’t listened to the Car Corner edition of Prudent Money on Friday afternoons, you really are missing out. Don Spear started this special edition show years ago as a way for listeners to get car advice. Tony Joe has been the Car Corner expert for fifteen plus years. It is amazing to watch him diagnose problems for listeners just by listening to the problem over the phone. Many times, these are problems that the listener has already been dealing with for weeks and have had their car worked on by other mechanics. Tony Joe has a real gift. He is also a Certified Master Mechanic. If you do have a problem that just can’t seem to get fixed, call him at 972-713-0906. He is the mechanic that people go to when other mechanics have failed. He is a true technician and problem solver. Unless you walk or ride a bike, gas prices have probably been on your mind. On last week’s show, Tony Joe was talking about gas prices and ways to save money. He talked about the many ways to save money, even with high gas prices. He said that one way that you definitely don’t want to try when it comes to saving money on gas is going to the station with the lowest price. There is a reason that these stations have such lower gasoline prices. It is lower quality fuel. Lower quality fuel creates problems down the road. Over time, this low grade fuel will really start to create problems with your engine. Stick with the going rate. It will protect your pocketbook down the road. I found a great website that will give you an idea of gasoline stations that are charging the lowest rates versus the ones that charging the low ball rates. It also has some gas saving tips.
