| Obama to “fix” Housing Problem…..Again |
|
You have to love politics…the sound bytes…announced intentions to fix things. This is just about all that comes out of Washington anymore. There are no real solutions, just a lot of talk. With November elections coming around the corner, expect the sound bytes to be loud and many. Maybe we will all get another $600 stimulus check. Oh, the excitement and anticipation about the next government hand-out. Let’s take a look at the first attempt to fix the housing problem. Of the 1.3 million people enrolled in the mortgage relief program (Obama’s brainchild), nearly 50% have dropped out of it. Only 490 million of the 75 Billion dollars set aside to help homeowners has been spent. That is a small percentage given that the program is 1 1/2 years old. Do you really think that the politicians are trying to fix the problem? Only allocating 75 billion to help fix this problem is like taking a knife to a gun fight. The latest the announcement is that the Obama administration is going to set up an emergency loan program for the unemployed. An official out of Washington said “we’re going to be focused like a laser on where the housing market is moving going forward, and we are going to go everywhere we can to make sure this market stabilizes and recovers.” Really? Like a laser? With all due respect, where do they think the housing market is going over the coming months? Is it just going to magically start recovering? You should have been firing off that laser a long time ago. Could someone please tell these “Einsteins” in Washington that we have a real bad problem and instead of sitting around and watching it, it might be a good idea to implement a real solution, that works? Well, I feel better that they are watching it like a laser. I have an idea. Instead of coming out with programs that make homeowners dependent on the government, |
